May 22, (THEWILL) — British singer-songwriter, Jessie J, has shared that she is cancer-free, a year after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis.
The 38-year-old announced the news on Instagram on Thursday, May 21, showing herself at an annual checkup and breast MRI.
“RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE. I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year”, she wrote.
Jessie J first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in June 2025 while promoting her album “Don’t Tease Me With a Good Time”, which was released later that November.
She underwent a mastectomy shortly afterward.
In August 2025, she postponed tour dates to undergo further treatment and a second surgical procedure.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “It was the most interesting, it was like Jessica and Jessie J had to hold each other…And honestly people are just going, ‘Are you good now?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m alive. I am so good.’”
She also offered encouragement to others facing cancer: “For anyone here that has been through cancer or is going through it…hold on. Eat good, feel good, read good, be around good. A positive mind…helps. It supports.”
Jessie J has faced several health challenges, including a heart condition as a child, a stroke as a teenager, and temporary deafness in 2020. In 2024, she was diagnosed with ADHD and OCD.
She is known for hits like “Price Tag”, “Domino”, and “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and has won multiple awards, including the Brits Critics’ Choice Award and four MOBOs.
