British Singer Jessie J - Jessica Cornish

June 04, (THEWILL) – British pop star Jessica Cornish, popularly known as Jessie J, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

The 37-year-old singer shared the news in an emotional video posted on Instagram, disclosing that she will undergo surgery shortly after her performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball scheduled for June 15 at Wembley Stadium.

“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,’” she said.

She added, “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I’m going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I’ll come back with massive tits and more music.”

Jessie J said she chose to go public with her diagnosis both as a way to process it and to support others facing similar battles.

“I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because selfishly, I don’t talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard,” she said. “I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me—people giving me their love, support, and their own stories. I’m an open book.”

Expressing empathy for others going through cancer, she added, “It breaks my heart that so many people are going through the same thing—or worse.

That’s the part that really kills me. The timing has been mad, but also beautiful. It’s given me an incredible perspective.”

The singer also appealed to fans for emotional support during this difficult time.

She stated, “Honestly, I need to process it and talk about it—and I need a hug.

“You’ve loved me through all my good and hard times. I don’t want this to be any different.”

Best known for chart-topping hits like Bang Bang and Domino, Jessie J confirmed her upcoming performance will go on as planned before she begins treatment.

Her heartfelt announcement has sparked a global wave of support from fans and fellow artists alike.
