March 31, (THEWILL) – Dr Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has congratulated Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia on their qualification for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Motsepe said that he was optimistic that these national teams will do an outstanding job representing their countries and the African continent at the World Cup in Qatar. He went as far as to reveal his hope that an African nation would win the FIFA World Cup in the not-too-distant future.
The South African sports administrator made it clear that CAF was ready to assist and support all African nations, who have qualified for the World Cup to the best of its abilities.
On a more melancholic note, CAF expressed grief on the sudden death of Dr Joseph Kabungo, a Zambian medical doctor and CAF Doping Officer.
As THEWILL reported, Kabungo died on Tuesday night, March 29, while working as a FIFA Doping Officer at the playoff match between Nigeria and Ghana in Abuja.
Motsepe and the entire CAF family offered their heartfelt sympathies to Kabungo’s family and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
