April 07, (THEWILL) — Mrs. Deborah Mbara, a cancer survivor, has broken her silence over allegations that Blessing CEO doctored her medical report to claim she had stage four cancer.
In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Mbara, a creative director and makeup artist from Asaba, Delta State, said she had previously worked as Blessing CEO’s makeup artist and had reached out to her with encouragement when she publicly announced her illness.
Mbara explained that Blessing CEO later requested a copy of her cancer report to “compare it with the one my doctor gave to me.”
Trusting the request, Mbara sent the document, only to see it circulate online as proof of Blessing CEO’s illness, with allegedly altered details.
“Then she said, ‘Zazi, can you just please help me send the report of when you were diagnosed so I could compare it with the one my doctor gave to me.’
“And I said ok no problem. Only for me to see it on the Internet that it was my result that she doctored to back up the nonsense and money people were donating to her,” Mbara said.
She added that Blessing CEO later visited her family to plead with them, despite previously claiming she had never met them.
“I thought I was helping someone in need, not knowing she had a different agenda. This is evil, this is wickedness, this is demonic. I am a proud survivor. Jesus saved me,” Mbara said.
The controversy deepened after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, confirmed that the viral report was an altered version of the original document issued to Mbara on May 9, 2025, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba.
The association disowned the doctored report and warned against actions that could undermine medical integrity.
Blessing CEO had previously solicited financial assistance for stage four cancer treatment.
Amid mounting scrutiny, she later admitted it was a “miscommunication” and confirmed she does not have stage four cancer.
She also stated she raised about ₦13 million in donations but refused to apologize, saying she believed she was sharing medical information.
Following the scandal, Blessing CEO and her partner, IVD (Ikechukwu Ogbonna), have deactivated their social media accounts.
