February 12, (THEWILL) – Spanish tennis sensation, Carlos Alcaraz, is all set to make his 2023 debut in Buenos Aires and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of tennis legends, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

19-year-old Alcaraz, who won his maiden Grand Slam at the US Open in 2022, rose to world number one and the same year. Despite a setback early in 2023 which forced him to miss the first major of the year at the Australian Open due to injury, he is now on the path to full fitness and ready to hit the ground running.

Alcaraz has arrived in Argentina with friends and family, as he feels that having them around is the best way for him to achieve balance in his life and bring out the best in his talent. The young tennis star cites tennis legends Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer as players he can learn from and says that he wants to improve everything about his game, fitness, and mentality.

He said: “I’m certain that I need to continue to improve. Achieving my dream very quickly caught me by surprise, so to speak. Now I’m used to it, I have a goal, I know where I want to get to, what I want to be, and that is the most important thing.”

Alcaraz’s debut in Buenos Aires marks the start of a new journey and is a step towards his dream of elevating his game to new heights and becoming one of the best tennis players in the world.
