  • Chadwick Boseman’s brothers, Kevin and Derrick Boseman, have filed a legal petition seeking the removal of his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, as administrator of the late actor’s estate.

  • The filing claims Boseman’s parents were entitled to portions of his estate after the actor died without a will in 2020.

  • The brothers are asking a Los Angeles court to review the estate’s finances and appoint a professional fiduciary and forensic accountant to investigate the handling of the assets.

  • Boseman, best known for playing King T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther, died in 2020 at age 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.

July 23, (THEWILL) — Chadwick Boseman’s brothers, Kevin and Derrick Boseman, have filed a petition asking a Los Angeles court to remove his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, as administrator of the actor’s estate.

The petition was filed on July 17 on behalf of Boseman’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman.

According to the filing, Ledward inherited 50% of the estate, while Boseman’s parents were each entitled to 25% after the actor died without leaving a will.

The brothers claim Ledward has not completed the distribution of the remaining assets despite a 2022 court order requiring her to do so.

They allege that the delay has prevented Boseman’s parents from receiving their share of the estate.

The petition claims the estate may include additional assets that have not been fully accounted for, including payments from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), residuals, image rights, intellectual property rights, real property, and a previously undisclosed bank account.

The brothers say the lack of information has raised concerns about transparency. They are asking the court to require a full accounting of the estate and review how the assets have been managed.

They also want Ledward removed as estate administrator and replaced with a professional fiduciary and forensic accountant to investigate the estate’s finances.

Boseman, who became a global star as King T’Challa in Marvel’s “Black Panther”, died on August 28, 2020, at age 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.

He was also known for films including “42”, “Get on Up” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
