March 11, (THEWILL) – Chelsea continued their winning run with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City in a thrilling encounter on Saturday.

Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic found the back of the net for the Blues, with Patson Daka’s stunning strike from range being the only response from the Foxes.

Leicester started strong, but their hopes were crushed after Chilwell scored an early goal. Although the hosts had a chance when James Maddison sent in a dangerous free-kick, Daniel Amartey missed the chance to equalise.

Chelsea also came close to scoring as Havertz’s lobbed effort hit the post. Chelsea could have been two goals up in the first half but for a missed opportunity as VAR spotted Joao Felix offside and struck off his goal. Leicester’s equaliser soon followed as Daka scored from range.

However, Chelsea regained the lead before halftime with Havertz’s clever flick. Leicester pushed for an equaliser when play resumed but it was Kovacic that sealed the win for Chelsea, and Wout Faes was sent off in the dying moments of the game. Chelsea will face Everton next, while Leicester travel to Brentford for their next English Premier League fixtures.
