August 22, (THEWILL) – Wesley Fofana of Leicester will be the subject of a third offer from Chelsea, which may fetch the Foxes up to £80 million in transfer fees.

Leicester have previously rejected two bids of £60m and £70m in an effort to secure a sum more affordable than the £85 million Manchester United shelled out to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in history in 2019.

Chelsea are unwilling to pay so much and have looked at other players, including Maguire himself, but since negotiations with United have stalled, the Blues are once again concentrating on their top target.

An £80 million offer is anticipated to land on Leicester’s desk, and Fofana is optimistic that a deal will be achieved quickly. The center-back is still pushing for the move and skipped training last week before being left out of the team for Leicester’s 2-1 loss to Southampton.

Chelsea and Fofana have already agreed personal terms, and he is hoping that this third offer would be sufficient to secure his desired transfer to Stamford Bridge.
