January 15, (THEWILL) – Chelsea have activated their option to recall defender Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, the south London club confirmed on Wednesday.
The decision comes amid defensive concerns at Stamford Bridge following injuries to key players.
The 25-year-old defender made significant contributions during his time with Palace, appearing in 12 English Premier League matches and finding the net three times.
His performances have proven valuable enough for Chelsea to bring him back into their squad earlier than initially planned.
The recall has been prompted by injuries to Chelsea defenders Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, who are both facing extended periods on the sidelines.
This defensive shortage has led the West London club to attempt to strengthen their backline by bringing Chalobah back into the fold.
