May 27, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the dreams and well-being of Nigerian children, describing them as the pride and future of the nation.
In a message to mark the 2025 International Children’s Day on Tuesday, the President said Nigerian children remain the heartbeat of the country’s future and the custodians of its promise, innovation, and leadership.
“Our children are the most precious part of our national fabric. They are the heartbeat of our nation’s future and the custodians of tomorrow’s promise,” Tinubu stated.
The President decried the prevalence of violence, bullying, and neglect, insisting that such practices have no place in today’s Nigeria.
“A child who learns in fear cannot learn well. A child who grows in fear cannot grow right,” he warned.
While acknowledging the importance of legislation, Tinubu stressed that laws alone are not enough to protect children. He called on parents, teachers, caregivers, religious leaders, lawmakers, and all Nigerians to play active roles in safeguarding the rights and development of children.
“Let today mark a renewed movement to build a Nigeria where no child suffers in silence, no child is left behind, and every child grows in dignity, peace, and love,” he said.
The President concluded by extending warm wishes to Nigerian children, saying, “Congratulations to all our children. May your laughter echo across this land as a symbol of Renewed Hope and a prosperous future.”
