May 16, (THEWILL) – American singer and songwriter, Christopher Maurice Brown, popularly known as Chris Brown, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged assault at a London nightclub in February 2023.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Brown allegedly attacked music producer Abe Diaw at a nightclub in Central London.
Diaw claimed the singer struck him on the head with a bottle before punching and kicking him while he lay on the ground. The incident reportedly left Diaw hospitalised and reliant on crutches after his discharge.
Brown was arrested at a hotel in Manchester in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, 2025, and remains in custody. He is expected to appear before the Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Legal proceedings are ongoing, and no further statements have been issued.
