April 16, (THEWILL) – Super Eagles sensation, Samuel Chukwueze, is attracting interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs, thanks to his impressive displays for Villarreal this season.
His former coach, Unai Emery, is reportedly monitoring this development and is reportedly interested in competing for Chukwueze’s signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, has also taken notice of the Nigerian winger and Perez is considering a move for him to join forces with Brazilian Vinicius Junior under Carlo Ancelotti’s tutelage. Chukwueze himself is rumoured to have expressed a preference for a move to Santiago Bernabeu over other destinations.
The 22-year-old still has a long-term contract with Villarreal, which includes an €80 million buyout clause, potentially posing a challenge for clubs with reported interest like Real Madrid and Aston Villa.
While Chukwueze may be keen to move on and advance his career, the limited playing time he was able to command under Emery while the gaffer was at Villarreal could impact Chukwueze’s decision-making in picking between Villa Park and the Santiago Bernabéu.
