July 17, (THEWILL) — Connie Francis, the legendary American singer who rose to international fame in the late 1950s and 1960s with timeless hits like Who’s Sorry Now?, Stupid Cupid, and Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool, has died at the age of 87.
Her publicist, Ron Roberts, announced her passing in a Facebook post on Thursday but did not disclose the cause of death.
“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night,” he wrote.
Once dubbed the world’s top-selling female recording artist, Francis was celebrated for her powerful, emotive voice and her versatility across pop, rock, and traditional music genres.
