April 17, (THEWILL) — Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Blord was released on Friday after spending about 15 days at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
He was remanded on April 1, 2026, following his arraignment over allegations of impersonation and unauthorized use of another person’s identity.
The development was confirmed by activist Omoyele Sowore on social media.
According to Sowore, the court granted bail on self-recognizance, meaning Blord was released based on his promise to appear for trial.
The court also imposed conditions, including the surrender of his international passport and the provision of sureties.
Blord is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and alleged unauthorized use of the image of activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
The case is based on claims that he used VeryDarkMan’s identity and likeness in promotional materials without consent.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with mixed reactions across social media.
Despite his release, proceedings are ongoing, and the court is expected to continue hearing the matter in the coming weeks.
