April 30, (THEWILL) — New court documents reveal that singer D4vd allegedly used a chainsaw to dismember 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez after stabbing her to death at his Hollywood Hills home in April 2025.
In a preliminary hearing brief released on April 29, prosecutors allege that D4vd purchased two chainsaws, an inflatable pool, a body bag, a shovel, and a “burn cage” online under a fake name in the days following the killing.
He allegedly dismembered her body in his garage and placed her remains in the inflatable pool to prevent blood from spreading.
Prosecutors also allege D4vd sent text messages to Rivas’ phone after she was already dead in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Her decomposed remains were later found in two bags in the trunk of his Tesla in September 2025, after police received reports of a foul odour coming from the abandoned vehicle.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and unlawful mutilation of remains.
He is being held without bail. His attorneys maintain that he “did not kill Celeste” and plan to vigorously defend his innocence.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26.
