Davido Denies Paternity Claim As Alleged Daughter, Mother Demand New DNA Test

Davido

January 16, (THEWILL) — Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido, has denied claims that he is the father of a teenage girl, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle Adeleke, following her renewed request for a DNA test to confirm her paternity.

According to posts shared online, 12-year-old Anu Adeleke said the long-running dispute over her identity has caused years of bullying, emotional distress, and public ridicule, prompting her to appeal directly to the singer for a DNA test. She stressed that her request was not about money, but about knowing her true identity.

Davido responded publicly on social media, firmly rejecting the claim and stating that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted.

According to him, five DNA tests carried out at different medical facilities all returned negative results, confirming he is not her biological father. He said three of the hospitals were selected by him, while two were chosen by Anu and her mother. He also denied having any personal relationship with the girl’s mother outside the DNA testing process.

Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, has disputed Davido’s account, insisting that only one DNA test was done in 2014 and alleging that the process was flawed. She claimed the blood sample taken was never properly tested and that later claims of multiple tests were false.

Labinjoh also accused Davido of using abusive language, bullying, and threatening her daughter, sharing screenshots of private messages she said were sent to the teenager. She alleged the dispute has severely affected Anu’s mental health, including episodes of fainting at school and the need for professional mental health support.

She said her daughter is not seeking financial support but wants clarity about her identity.

Labinjoh has called for a new, independently supervised DNA test and said she intends to ask the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria to oversee the process, noting that Davido is a U.S. citizen.

Davido has continued to deny the allegations, reiterating that he is not the teenager’s father and suggesting possible legal action against Anu’s mother.
