March 07, (THEWILL) – Davido has been honoured as an outstanding global citizen of Belize because of his philanthropic work.
The award was presented by Shyne Barrow, opposition leader of Belize House of Representatives at the O2 Arena on Saturday.
He hailed the singer for extending his philanthropic work to Belize and presented the award plaque to him.
“The opposition leader of the House of Representatives, Honorable Shyne Barrow proclaims and honour @Davido with a plaque as “Outstanding Global Citizen of Belize” for his philanthropic acts towards the country and the community.”
In November 2021, Davido had taken to his Twitter to ask his followers and friends to send him money.
He first said he was soliciting money to clear his Royce Rolls at the Port. With a target of 100million initially set for the fundraiser, he later amassed 200million. He then added 50million and donated the money to different orphanage homes.
