May 07, (THEWILL) — Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido, has been named as one of the inductees for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside. The Walk of Fame honours individuals who have made major contributions to Black music and entertainment.
Davido joins a 2026 class that includes rapper, Ludacris, gospel singer, Paul S. Morton, and late former Atlanta Mayor, Maynard Jackson.
The singer also joins Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, among African artists previously recognised by the organisation.
The announcement comes as Davido marks 15 years in music since the release of his debut single “Back When” on May 7, 2011.
Reflecting on the milestone, the singer said his career journey has been guided by God’s timing.
“God is the best of all planners! 15 years in da game”, he wrote on X on Thursday.
Davido is one of Afrobeats’ biggest global stars. His album “Timeless” earned Grammy nominations, while his recent project “5IVE” gained international attention.
The honour adds to Davido’s growing list of international achievements as Afrobeats continues to expand its global influence.
