April 09, (THEWILL) — The Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has denied reports that it banned Burna Boy’s music from playlists, calling the rumours “false and misleading”.

Media reports in recent days claimed that the Nigerian DJ Association (NDJ) placed a temporary ban on all Burna Boy songs, directing DJs in Nigeria and abroad to remove his music from playlists following a reported clash with DJ Tunez at a private Lagos event.

DJAN National President, Prince Akim Edeh, said the association “did not, and has no intention to, ban the music of Burna Boy or any other artist.”

The statement condemned the unauthorised use of DJAN’s logo to support the false narrative and said the association is monitoring ongoing investigations into the incident.

DJAN reaffirmed its commitment to a professional and collaborative music environment, noting it “maintains a firm stance against any form of violence or physical confrontation” and urged the public to allow authorities to handle the matter.

DJAN also clarified that DJ Tunez is not a registered member of the association.
