Despite chances for Moses Simon and Cyriel Dessers, the Super Eagles could not find an equaliser before Doumbia’s late strike sealed Mali’s victory with three minutes remaining.
The result marks a disappointing outcome for Nigeria, who were looking to build momentum after their 2-1 win over Ghana last Friday. George will need to address the defensive lapses that proved costly, as the Super Eagles prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
