September 22, (THEWILL) — Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has claimed his first Ballon d’Or trophy, receiving recognition for his outstanding performances during PSG’s treble-winning campaign.
The 28-year-old France international topped the voting ahead of Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal to claim football’s most prestigious individual honour.
Dembele’s exceptional season saw him contribute 35 goals and 14 assists across 53 appearances for the French champions.
His 21 league goals made him the joint top scorer in Ligue 1, earning him both the French top-flight player of the year award and the UEFA Champions League player of the year accolade.

Despite PSG’s Monday evening fixture, Dembele attended the ceremony in Paris due to his current injury status.
The forward remains sidelined through fitness concerns, ruling him out of his team’s recent activities.
