April 20, (THEWILL) — Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have become grandfathers-in-law after Murphy’s son Eric Murphy and Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence welcomed a baby girl named Ari Skye.
Murphy confirmed the news on Saturday, April 18, while being honoured with the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award.
He noted the baby had arrived within the past couple of weeks.
The event brought together leading figures in entertainment to celebrate Murphy’s decades-long contributions to film and comedy.
The two actors previously starred together in “Boomerang” (1992) and “Life” (1999) and have maintained a close friendship over the years.
The birth of Ari Skye now connects their families directly.
