April 19, (THEWILL) – Despite being involved in a car accident on his way to training on Monday, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is likely to play against Liverpool on Tuesday.
Ralf Rangnick, United’s manager, said that the 27-year-old midfielder had trained with the team following the accident, with no significant injuries reported among those involved.
At his press conference on Monday, Rangnick said: “Yes, he was training with the team. Obviously the accident happened on the way to Carrington. As far as I know, no one was injured. He was OK and he’ll be OK for tomorrow.”
The incident involving his Porsche is believed to have occurred near the player’s home in Cheshire, which is not far from the club’s Carrington training facility.
On Tuesday, United travels to Liverpool in the Premier League in the hopes of drawing level on points with Tottenham in the race for fourth place.
In 30 league games for United this season, Fernandes has nine goals and six assists.
