November 11, (THEWILL) – FIFA has revealed that the draw for the expanded 2025 Club World Cup will take place in Miami, Florida, on December 5. The event will officially unveil the 32 clubs set to compete in the summer tournament across the United States.

The inaugural 32-team competition is scheduled to commence on June 15 next year, with the opening match to be held at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium. The final will be played on July 13, bringing the tournament to a conclusion. This significant expansion marks a bold new chapter for the Club World Cup, which previously featured only a limited number of participants.

Among the qualified teams are some of the world’s most illustrious clubs, including reigning UEFA Champions League holders, Real Madrid, as well as Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain from the English Premier League and Ligue 1 respectively. South American giants, Boca Juniors and River Plate, have also booked their places, alongside Saudi Arabian powerhouse, Al Hilal.

The final qualifier for the tournament will be determined by the upcoming CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores final between Atletico Mineiro and Botafogo, set to take place on November 30 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will be the last piece of the puzzle before the draw in Miami.

However, the expansion of the Club World Cup has faced some criticism from prominent managers, such as Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, who have expressed concerns about the added workload on players.
