December 11, (THEWILL) — Nigerian filmmaker and actor Stanley Ajemba, widely known as Stanley Ontop, has been released from police custody after spending a night at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Asaba.
Ajemba was arrested on Tuesday over a defamation petition reportedly filed by actress Queeneth Hilbeth.
His arrest sparked widespread backlash on social media, with colleagues, fans and supporters demanding his immediate release.
He regained his freedom on Wednesday evening and later posted a video on Instagram expressing gratitude to everyone who stood by him.
In the video, he said: “We are out, we’re out, we’re out! The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”
