Chelsea's Hudson-Odoi To Spend Season On Loan At Leverkusen

September 1, (THEWILL) – Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in a major transfer coup.

The 22-year-old winger joins Forest on a three-year contract after ending his 16-year association with Chelsea. He rose through the Chelsea Academy and broke into the first team under Maurizio Sarri in 2018/2019, earning £40m bids from Bayern Munich after impressing in his breakthrough campaign. However, injuries hampered his progress in west London and he fell out of favour.

After spending last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, Hudson-Odoi returned to Chelsea but was unable to agree a transfer to Fulham this summer. Forest have now swooped in to secure the England youth international’s signature.

On joining Forest, Hudson-Odoi said: “It’s a new chapter for me at a big club that has won major trophies. I know the manager well and I’m excited to play at The City Ground.”

Forest boss, Steve Cooper, added: “Callum is a top talent and this is a real statement of intent. He will excite the fans and improve our attacking options.”
