Both players held their subsequent service games, but at 5-4, Sakkari faced a perilous situation, defending two match points before managing to hold and level the set at 5-5.
Nevertheless, Muchova showcased her determination, comfortably navigating her next service game and breaking Sakkari once again to claim a remarkable victory. As Muchova celebrated her triumph, Sakkari endured a stunning upset, marking the tournament’s most surprising result thus far.
