July 19, (THEWILL) – Turkish football powerhouse, Galatasaray, has made a proposal for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
Numerous teams are keeping tabs on the Finnish international, who was an important player for the Gers on their path to the Europa League final. At the last count, Brighton are keeping an eye on the midfielder just as RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt also remain interested after Kamara’s outstanding performances against them in the European semi-final and final last season.
Besides those clubs, the French side Marseille is also quite interested, but Galatasaray have initiated contact to get ahead of the competition. It is thought that they have offered roughly £8 million for Kamara, but Rangers will not even think about selling for that amount.
The Scottish team does not want to sell another midfielder after losing Nigerian Joe Aribo to Southampton in a deal that might cost up to £10 million. A £23 million deal to trade defender Calvin Bassey to Ajax is almost complete, so money is also not an issue. Ben Davies of Liverpool has been targeted as a replacement, and a £4 million offer has been made.
After signing a new contract at the beginning of the previous season, Kamara’s current Ibrox contract has three years left on it, meaning Rangers are not in any hurry to lose him.
