May 13, (THEWILL) – Manchester United claimed a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at a sun-drenched Old Trafford on Saturday, with goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho sealing the win.
Martial found the net from close range after a penetrating run by Antony, who left the retreating Craig Dawson behind, while Garnacho added the second goal in injury time from Bruno Fernandes’ assist on the counter.
Wolves’ goalkeeper, Daniel Bentley, made several outstanding saves throughout the match, showcasing his exceptional form. Bentley’s efforts denied Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Antony from increasing United’s winning margin. Antony then set up Martial for an easy finish after drawing Bentley off his line.
Despite Bentley’s commendable saves, he could not prevent Garnacho from scoring United’s second goal, as the Argentine forward capitalised on Fernandes’ well-timed through ball, hitting the inside of the near post before finding the back of the net. United’s next match is against Bournemouth on Saturday, while Wolves will face Everton.
