June 19 (THEWILL) — Grammy-nominated music producer, Tay Keith, known for creating major hits for Drake, Travis Scott and Beyoncé, has died at the age of 29.
Keith, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was found dead on Thursday, June 18, at his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee, after police carried out a welfare check. Authorities said no foul play is suspected. His cause of death has not been released, and an autopsy is being conducted.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Tay Keith became one of hip-hop’s most successful producers. He was best known for producing Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and Drake’s “Nonstop”, two of the biggest rap songs of 2018.
Over the years, he worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Drake, Travis Scott, Beyoncé, Eminem, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Cardi B and Sexyy Red.
His credits also included Beyoncé’s “Before I Let Go”, Eminem’s “Not Alike”, and BlocBoy JB and Drake’s “Look Alive”.
Keith received Grammy nominations for “Sicko Mode” in 2019 and Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex” in 2024.
He was also named Producer of the Year at the 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards and was included on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Music list.
He also played a key role in Sexyy Red’s rise to mainstream success, producing her breakout hit “Pound Town” and several other tracks.
