May 30, (THEWILL) – Raphael Guerreiro, the 29-year-old Portuguese footballer for Borussia Dortmund, has announced his departure from the Bundesliga side as his contract comes to an end this season.
Guerreiro, who joined the German club from Lorient in 2016, has been an integral part of Dortmund’s squad for the past seven years. Taking to social media, the versatile left-sided player bid farewell to the Dortmund fans following the conclusion of their Bundesliga campaign over the weekend.
In a heartfelt message, Guerreiro expressed his gratitude for the memories and experiences he gained during his time at Dortmund. During his tenure at Dortmund, Guerreiro made a significant impact, appearing in 224 matches across various competitions and scoring 40 goals. In the recently concluded season, he continued to be a crucial member of the first team, featuring in 36 matches and contributing six goals and 14 assists. While he departed without securing a league title, Guerreiro did lift the German Cup twice during his time at the club.
