May 06, (THEWILL) – Manchester City survived a late scare to keep their English Premier League title charge on track with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over relegation-threatened Leeds.
Ilkay Gundogan found the back of the net twice in the 19th and 27th minutes, but his missed penalty added some tension to the match. Despite their dominance, City failed to convert numerous chances, with Erling Haaland hitting the woodwork twice.
Leeds managed to pull one back through Rodrigo in the 85th minute, but City held on for the win, extending their lead over Arsenal to four points at the top of the table.
