May 04, (THEWILL) – The English Premier League has announced the eight-man shortlist for the EA Sports Player of the Month award for April.
Headlining the list are the impressive Manchester City pair of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, and also, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
Haaland, who has been in sensational form this season, scored braces against Southampton and Leicester, followed by one goal and two assists in their win against Arsenal. He ended the month by equalling the record for most goals in a Premier League season with a penalty at Fulham.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne played a pivotal role in their victory over Arsenal, registering three goals and three assists. Also in contention for the award are Crystal Palace’s Ebere Eze, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, and Liverpool’s Diogo Jota.
Isak and Wilson’s impressive form cannot be ignored, with the Swede notching four goals and an assist, and the Englishman scoring an impressive eight goals and adding the metric of one assist to his display.
