May 08, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has alleged that some producers demand for sex before giving out roles in the industry.
The filmmaker shared her opinion on sex-for-roles in the industry during an interactive session on Saturday.
She stated that it was the reason she stopped featuring in movies in the past few years.
She also disclosed that she has ventured into movie production.
“I left Twitter not Nollywood to produce. I no get strength for sex.
“Taking a break is necessary. I have won all. I won’t be too hungry to lick ass, or belong to a group.
“Like I said before, I don’t have filters, I say the truth …I mean that’s me.”
A Twitter user asked if producers demand sex before giving out roles in Nollywood. And she answered affirmatively, “So many yes.”
Her claim is coming a few weeks after veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, said people should not believe claims of sex for roles in the film industry.
KOK also claimed that a large number of up-and-coming actresses do not work hard to earn roles in the industry.
