April 13, (THEWILL) – J.K Rowling’s books, ‘Harry Potter’, is set to be adapted into Television series.

All the seven books in the series, which were published between 1997 and 2007, the live-action series will become a decade-long series, produced with the same epic craft, love and care the global franchise is known for.

David Zaslav, the Warner Bros Discovery CEO, announced this development on Wednesday, during a presentation that revealed how HBO Max and Discovery+ would be integrated.

“The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over twenty-five years.

“Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

While speaking about HBO Max’s commitment to the TV series, Rowling revealed the project is important to her.

“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I am looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long-form television series.”

JK Rowling will be the executive producer of the series, alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts.

The Harry Potter books have sold more than 600 million copies across the globe.

The books were turned into movies between 2001 and 2011.

It consisted of eight films and made household names of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
