January 20, (THEWILL) — Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has achieved another major milestone after becoming a three-time Guinness World Records holder, following official confirmation that she cooked the world’s largest serving of rice overall.
Sharing the news on Tuesday via her Instagram page, Hilda posted a photo of the official mail from Guinness World Records and revealed that the announcement came as a complete surprise.
According to her, she was conducting routine checks on her email when she unexpectedly discovered that she had simultaneously broken two records during a previous attempt.
She wrote: “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026.
“This morning, I was just doing my usual routine, casually scrolling through my emails, when I saw the message come in. I was shocked and happy at the same time, completely caught off guard. Five months after the initial record announcement, I was just finding out that there was more.
“When I and @ginonaija broke the Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, I thought that was it. What I didn’t know, until now, is that on that same day, we had also broken the record for the largest serving of rice overall. So what I thought was one record… turned out to be two. And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total.”
The revelation confirms that while setting the September 2025 record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice with food brand Gino, Hilda also unknowingly broke the world record for the largest serving of rice overall on the same day.
This brings her total Guinness titles to three, adding to her earlier record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023.
Hilda thanked God, Guinness World Records, her team, and everyone who supported her throughout the journey. She described the moment as a powerful reminder of faith and divine surprises.
With this latest achievement, Hilda Baci becomes the most decorated Nigerian chef in Guinness World Records history, further cementing her place as a global culinary icon.
