February 11, (THEWILL) – Leicester City produced a dominant performance to beat Tottenham 4-1 in a Premier League match at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, with a Kelechi Iheanacho man-of-the-match display.
The game started with Tottenham taking the lead in lucky fashion, when a corner from Ivan Perisic, was cleared by Victor Kristiansen, but the ball hit the shin of Rodrigo Bentancur, and ricocheted in from close range. The goal was eventually confirmed after a VAR check for offside.
Leicester, however, responded with two goals in three minutes, as James Maddison’s corner was cleared only as far as Nampalys Mendy, who scored with a half-volley past Fraser Forster. Minutes later, Iheanacho capitalised on some poor defending from Tottenham and drew attention before squaring for Maddison to finish.
The Foxes continued to dominate and Iheanacho scored after drifting into the box and curling into the far corner from the edge of the box. The visitors failed to improve in the second half and Harvey Barnes, added a fourth for Leicester, picking his spot in the far corner.
Leicester will now face a trip to Manchester United in their next match, while Tottenham will play in the UEFA Champions League midweek before a London Derby against West Ham next Sunday.
