March 18, (THEWILL) — Influencer King Mitchy visited veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, and gifted him bundles of cash on Tuesday.
In a clip shared online, King Mitchy is seen sitting beside the 65-year-old actor, visibly emotional during their conversation.
She noted that although she did not grow up watching him, she was well aware of his legacy and impact in the entertainment industry.
The visit followed Ayoyinka’s recent interview, where he opened up about his financial struggles, revealing that he does not own a car or a house.
Ayoyinka, who became a household name through the hit TV series “Papa Ajasco & Company”, disclosed that when the show gained popularity in 1997, he earned ₦22,500 per episode. Nearly three decades later, his pay has only increased to ₦45,000.
He also explained that he does not have the right to use the “Papa Ajasco” name independently, as the character is legally owned by producer Wale Adenuga, a situation he said has limited his opportunities over the years.
During their meeting, the actor spoke about his daily challenges, particularly his difficulty moving around without a vehicle. He reiterated his need for support, especially a car.
King Mitchy then presented him with bundles of cash, a gesture that left the veteran actor visibly moved.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Papa Ajasco offered heartfelt prayers for the influencer, declaring that she would “never lack nor fall.”
She also called on Nigerians to support the veteran actor, encouraging further assistance.
The moment has since drawn widespread reactions, with many praising the gesture and calling for more support for the Nollywood icon.
