March 29, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has voiced his belief that his team deserves more respect in the UEFA Champions League after progressing from a group that included Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The Italian team secured a home win and an away draw against La Blaugrana to advance from Group C. In the last 16, Inter overcame a tough challenge from Porto, winning 1-0 on aggregate over the two-legged affair. They now face Benfica in the quarter-final and could potentially face Italian rivals Napoli or Milan in the last four.

Despite Napoli dominating the Serie A and being 19 points clear at the top, Inter still has hopes of securing silverware on two fronts. Alongside their UCL journey, they also have a Coppa Italia semi-final clash against Juventus to contend with.

Onana is confident that Inter can go all the way. He said: “We deserve more respect in Europe, given that we sent Barcelona to the Europa League and faced a complicated group. We have shown that we are a strong team. It doesn’t matter what will happen in the next round, we will face Benfica to win. I want to win everything.”

Inter will first play Fiorentina in the league on Saturday before their Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus. “We must always play without fear,” Onana said. “If there is fear, it’s better not to take the field. A difficult month awaits us, but we prepare every day to play matches like those against Juventus and Benfica. I am convinced that if we work in the right way, it will be a month full of satisfaction.”
