July 12, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan have extended manager, Simone Inzaghi’s contract until 2026, the club announced on Friday. The 48-year-old Italian coach led Inter to their 20th Serie A title in the 2023/2024 season, finishing 19 points clear of rivals, AC Milan.
Inzaghi joined Inter in 2021 on a two-year deal after Antonio Conte’s departure. He previously extended his contract until 2025, last September. During his three-year tenure, Inzaghi has won three Italian Supercups and two Italian Cups, while also guiding Inter to the 2023 UEFA Champions League final.
Inter dominated Serie A last season with 29 wins, seven draws and only two losses. However, they exited the UCL and Italian Cup in the round of 16.
The contract extension comes after a change in ownership at Inter Milan. US fund, Oaktree, took control from Chinese group, Suning, in May 2024, after Suning failed to repay a substantial debt.
Inzaghi will aim to build on Inter’s domestic success and improve their performances in Cup competitions next season as he continues his spell with the Italian giants.
