SAN FRANCISCO, November 28, (THEWILL) – Portuguese star forward Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in the team sheet for Serie A Matchday nine fixture between Benevento and league giants Juventus. Head coach Andrea Pirlo confirmed the striker was being rested for Saturday’s trip to the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
Brilliant as ever, Ronaldo has made a productive start to the season, netting nine goals in only seven games in all competitions for the club.
The 35-year-old, however, will not feature in the Benevento tie due to fatigue. Pirlo made this clear to Juventus TV.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will take an agreed rest session because he was a bit tired after so many games.
“It was planned that he would not come to Benevento.”
Ronaldo has played eight games for club and country since the start of this month. And has been prolific in front of goal for the Italian outfit.
This season, only Milan veteran superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with 10 goals to his name has more Serie A goals than Ronaldo’s eight.

Yet, Ronaldo’s conversion rate is superior to the Swede’s. The Juve forward has converted 75 per cent of his big chances, compared to Ibrahimovic’s 60. Although the seven chances Ronaldo has created are fewer than the 10 created by Zlatan.
Juventus are fourth in the Serie A table, four points adrift of Milan, ahead of their weekend trip to Benevento.
