Kunle-Afod-with-Daddy-Fresh-at-the-hospital

November 05, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Adekunle Olalekan, popularly known as Kunle Afod, has called on the public to extend support to veteran reggae musician, Innocent Onyebuchi, better known as Daddy Fresh, following a visit to him at a hospital in Lagos.

Afod, who shared the visit in a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, described the artiste’s condition as critical and appealed for both financial and emotional assistance.

In the video, Daddy Fresh revealed that he has been bedridden for over two years due to multiple health complications affecting his kidneys, liver, eyes and nerves, adding that the illness has wiped out his savings.

“I started hallucinating, seeing people, those I know and don’t know. I talk to them but others don’t see them. My kidney, my liver, neuropathy. I’ve had surgery on my eyes but one eye doesn’t see anymore,” he said.

The musician, known for his 1990s hits such as Elerugbe Erue and Faka Fiki Faka, also disclosed that he urgently requires blood transfusion.

“They told me I need two or three pints of blood because my blood level is dangerously low — just 25%. If I stand up, I’ll fall unless someone holds me,” he added.

Daddy Fresh further lamented the risk of eviction from his residence over unpaid rent.

He expressed gratitude to Afod for the visit, which he described as a sign of hope. “For me to see people I didn’t expect, like you, it’s a sign of positivity,” he said.

Afod, after offering him financial support, pledged to return and urged Nigerians to rally around the artiste.

“This is Daddy Fresh. If you know him, you know what I’m talking about. He has been sick for over three years. I am here to beg for support. Please, let’s keep him alive,” he appealed.

Despite the severity of his condition, Daddy Fresh remains hopeful that with help, he can overcome his health challenges.
