
Executive coach and leadership trainer, Laila St Matthew-Daniel has joined the septuagenarian club. The ageless woman is the mother of artiste management expert, Funke Kuti. As part of her plan to make her mother’s birthday celebration a special one, she made a photo collage of her mum’s children and grandchildren as she penned a tribute to the dynamic woman while praying for her.
A woman of many parts, Laila is a speaker, author, women’s rights activist and writer. The mother of four is the founder and President of ACTS Generation GBV, a non -governmental organisation combating domestic violence and child abuse in Nigeria. Unknown to many, the activist has organised various protests for the rights of women and the girl-child, such as the one that kicked against the Buni Yadi Massacre of February 2014. It was part of the initial wave of protests against the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls by Boko Haram.
The celebrant, who has devoted her life to helping others, has organized various sensitisation seminars and workshops to empower women on the issues of self-mastery, self-awareness, and self-actualisation. As part of her birthday celebration, she had a photo shoot which she splashed on social media while appreciating her maker for the blessings she has received in the 70 years of her life.
