March 10, (THEWILL)- Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), outfit Abia Warriors were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after League leadersLobi Stars snatched a dramatic late equaliser in a 1-1 encounter, on Sunday.

The home side looked set to claim all three points after Fabian Omaka converted from the penalty spot in the 70th minute. However, Lobi Stars refused to be defeated and threw everything forward in the closing stages.

Their persistence paid off in the 95th minute when John Ekioke found the back of the net to earn his side a vital point.

The result leaves Lobi Stars firmly in control at the top of the NPFL table with 43 points so far into the 2023/2024 campaign. Meanwhile, Abia Warriors remain in 10th place with 34 points but will be disappointed not to have secured a morale-boosting victory on home soil.

Abia Warriors will now turn their attention to their upcoming away match against Heartland FC, on Wednesday, while Lobi Stars have a challenging home game against Rivers United, on the same day.
