December 22, (THEWILL) — An autopsy report on late Nollywood actor and skit maker Odira Nwobu has surfaced weeks after his sudden death in South Africa, raising fresh questions about the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Nwobu, 43, died on 24 November 2025 while on vacation and work engagements in South Africa.
At the time of his death, reports stated that he died from complications related to high blood pressure, a condition he was known to have.
However, a recently circulated autopsy report indicates that poisoning was the cause of his death.
The actor’s director, Arthur Scott, confirmed the authenticity of the report and expressed surprise at the findings.
Scott said the family and colleagues are confused by the result and are still waiting for the full autopsy report.
“We are yet to get the full report, but all of this is confusing because we can’t understand how he was poisoned,” he said.
Odira Nwobu was widely known for his performances in Nollywood films and online skits.
