May 12, (THEWILL)- Nigerian leaders from the political, academic, business, financial and media spheres recently gathered at the prestigious MUSON Centre in Lagos for the inaugural memorial lecture in honour of Late Prince Emeka Obasi, Founder of Business Hallmark Newspapers. The topic of the lecture was ‘If This Giant Must Walk; Manifesto for a New Nigeria.’ The lecture was chaired by former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke who set the tone for the conversation while Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State was the keynote speaker. It also featured a panel session that discussed the topic and key points raised by the guest speaker at the event.

Dr Betty Emeka Obasi, also led dignitaries to unveil the Prince Emeka Obasi Foundation, established to sustain the legacy of providing access to education for indigent Nigerian students. Emeka died in a Lagos hospital after battling an undisclosed ailment for a few years. He was 58 years-old at the time of his death. Emeka who was the Ezenwata of Ibeku Kingdom was an award-winning journalist who was a onetime Commissioner for Information in Abia State. He founded the Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre (PPRAC), organisers of the annual Zik Prize in Leadership Awards.
