March 28, (THEWILL) — Legendary American golfer Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover car crash on Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. local time near Beach Road, close to his home.
Authorities confirmed the incident and said an investigation is ongoing, but have not released details about the cause of the crash or Woods’ condition.
Photos from the scene showed a vehicle believed to be his SUV tipped on its side. However, early reports say he appeared to be okay after the accident.
Woods, 50, has been recovering from recent injuries, including a ruptured Achilles tendon and back surgery in late 2025.
He recently returned to competitive golf, playing earlier this week in the TGL finals with his Jupiter Links Golf Club team.
This is not the first serious car accident involving Woods. In 2021, he suffered major leg injuries in a rollover crash in California that required emergency surgery and a lengthy recovery.
Officials are expected to provide more details as the investigation continues.
