May 05, (THEWILL) – Formula One race driver, George Russell, has revealed that he has no plans to clear the air with Max Verstappen, following their clash at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix sprint race.

The incident between Russell of AMG Mercedes and Red Bull’s Verstappen occurred during the first lap of the Saturday sprint race in Baku, resulting in a hole being ripped in the side of the Red Bull. Despite this setback, Verstappen still managed to finish third

The Mercedes driver stated that he had not discussed the incident with the F1 champion ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. Russell made it clear that he would continue to race in the same manner as before and that there was no air to be cleared between the two drivers.

On his part, Verstappen expressed his relaxed views on the matter, stating that it was “absolutely fine.” The Dutch driver even joked about the situation when asked about it. Even with the rip his car suffered, Verstappen went on to take second place in Sunday’s main grand prix, leaving Baku six points clear of his Mexican teammate and race winner Sergio Perez in the standings.

Red Bull has dominated the season so far, winning four out of four races, with three one-two finishes. Meanwhile, Mercedes currently sits third overall, behind Aston Martin, with Russell yet to stand on the podium in 2023.
