June 05, (THEWILL) – More Controversies has trailed the one million followers’ event conducted by social media influencer, Abike Halima Raheem, also known as Papaya ex.
The popular skit maker had announced that she was staging a giveaway on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
She promised to give out a Lexus car, iphones and other compensation prizes.
Many of her fans travelled from different parts of Nigeria to attend the event.
A few days after the event, vendors who paid N70,000 to display and sell their goods have taken to social media to count their losses. They complained of running at a loss because of low patronage.
A food vendor, Sheedahspicymeal, lamented that food worth N500,000 was wasted despite paying for a stall. She complained that vendors were given spaces which weren’t covered with canopy and the planning of the event was nothing to write home about.
The ray of the sun ended up spoiling their food. To make things worse, Papaya ex’s fans didn’t patronise their stalls.
Some vendors who came from Oyo State had to give out their food to beggers due to poor sales. Some of them ran into almost a million naira loss as a result. And they have been crying on social media since the event took place.
Even those who went to the venue to sell their beauty products also recorded poor sales despite investing money in taking stalls.
Recall that controversy also trailed the car prize. It was alleged that the content creator gave the car to her ally, Precious, who has been loyal in handling her social media fans page.
