
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa, has become an honorary citizen of the State of Georgia, USA. The lawyer cum politician was honoured by the black caucus of the Georgia Legislative chamber during the conference of Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, which took place last week in Atlanta, capital of Georgia.
The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus conference (GLBC) is an annual legislative conference that brings together a diverse cross-section of elected officials, industry experts and community leaders across the state. The conference also afforded attendees opportunities to engage in public forums, share and exchange ideas and evidence-based solutions to problems and challenges affecting blacks, people of color and disenfranchised Georgians.
The award which was the first in the history of the GLBC, was given to Obasa for his contribution to the development and entrenchment of good governance in Nigeria. The astute politician expressed gratitude and revealed how eager and willing he is in fostering stronger ties between different communities for a better future.
